Filming a Summer Wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn
There are some wedding days that just feel really special, and Hannah and Matt’s wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn was one of them.
Set in the Cheshire countryside, Sandhole Oak Barn is such a beautiful place to get married. The old oak barn, the grounds, the views and all the little details make it such a lovely setting for a wedding, but what really makes a wedding is the people, and Hannah and Matt’s day was full of them.
From the morning preparations through to the dancing in the evening, there was so much love, laughter and emotion throughout the day.
The morning of a wedding always has a funny feeling to it. Everything is familiar, but there’s also that feeling that something really exciting is about to happen.
Hannah spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her family and friends. There was plenty of excitement, plenty of laughter and those little moments of calm in between everything going on.
Hannah is an Olympic gymnast, but on her wedding day she was simply Hannah, getting ready to marry the person she loves, surrounded by the people closest to her.
Over with Matt, the morning was all about getting ready and waiting for the moment he would finally see Hannah.
Finally seeing each other
I always love this part of a wedding.
After spending the morning separately, there’s something really lovely about seeing a couple together for the first time on their wedding day.
For Hannah and Matt, there was so much emotion in that moment. It wasn't staged or complicated. It was just the two of them taking in the fact that this was finally their wedding day.
Those are the moments I love filming most because they happen naturally. You don't need to recreate them or ask anyone to do anything. You just have to be there and let it happen.
One of my favourite things about Sandhole Oak Barn is that there are so many beautiful places around the venue to spend a little time together.
After the ceremony, Hannah and Matt had some time together away from everyone else. These are often some of my favourite parts of a wedding day.
There's no pressure to do anything other than enjoy being married.
We walked around the grounds, captured some beautiful footage of the two of them together and gave them a little bit of time to take everything in.
They had just got married, after all. It’s easy to forget to actually stop and enjoy it.
