Filming a Summer Wedding at Aston Hall
Some wedding days are beautiful because of the venue, the details, or the styling. Others have something that cannot be planned or bought.
Katie & Jarrod’s wedding at Aston Hall in Sheffield had that something.
Of course, there were plenty of beautiful details to capture. The pampas grass, soft neutral tones, and elegant styling created a timeless atmosphere throughout the day. But what stood out most was the happiness.
There was so much of it.
You could feel it in the room, see it on people's faces, and hear it in the laughter. And that genuine happiness is what ultimately made their wedding film so special.
I loved the styling of Katie & Jarrod’s wedding.
The pampas grass and neutral colour palette created a beautifully understated look that worked perfectly with the surroundings. There was a softness to the whole aesthetic that gave the day an elegant, timeless feel without ever becoming too formal.
Neutral tones are particularly beautiful on film because they allow the emotion and people to remain at the heart of the story. The styling creates the atmosphere, but it never distracts from what is really happening.
Happiness That Filled the Room
The thing I will remember most about this wedding is just how happy everyone was.
There are certain weddings where you can almost feel the atmosphere through the camera, and this was one of them.
Katie & Jarrod were surrounded by people who were genuinely thrilled to be there celebrating with them. The smiles felt effortless, the laughter was constant, and there was a real sense that everyone was completely present in the moment.
As a filmmaker, you cannot manufacture that.
You can find beautiful locations, create cinematic shots, and carefully capture all the details, but the moments that make a film truly memorable come from genuine emotion.
